Würzburg (dpa) - Corona makes inventive: for the 100th anniversary of the Mozart Festival in Würzburg, musicians from an orchestra want to play exclusive concerts in five living rooms.

The living rooms have already been selected, said Claudia Haevernick from the event team of the Mozart Festival in Würzburg.

Previously, residents who wanted to make their private rooms available for the experience with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra could apply.

On May 30th, 30 to 40 guests can experience the chamber concerts like in Mozart's time for about an hour - if Corona allows it.

According to the organizer, compliance with hygiene regulations has the highest priority.

The same applies to the other concerts of the Mozart Festival.

For the festival month from May 28 to June 27, 2021, a total of 85 concerts are planned at 30 venues in Würzburg.

In addition, an exhibition with 60 Mozart exhibits will be on view from May 15 to July 11.

Original music texts and a letter from Mozart are also on display.

There is also a series of lectures entitled "How Much Mozart Do People Need?"

"Ticket confirmations and invoices can only be confirmed eight weeks before the start of the festival in the order in which the orders were received, based on the best-seat principle," said the organizers.

The Bavarian Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) has taken over the patronage.

The Mozart Festival in Würzburg has been held in the Würzburg Residenz since 1921, initially as a music and theater week.
