Leipzig (dpa / sn) - After a ticket machine broke into the Markkleeberg-Gaschwitz S-Bahn station, the police identified three possible suspects.

According to the federal police, their apartments in the Leipzig district of Connewitz were searched on Friday to further preserve evidence.

The officials had secured extensive evidence.

In addition, they found about three kilos of illegal and homemade pyrotechnics as well as presumably stolen objects and narcotics.

The federal police are now investigating serious gang theft, stolen goods and violations of the Explosives and Narcotics Act.

A total of around 50 federal police officers were involved in the searches.

They lasted until the early evening hours.

The ticket machine was broken into on Thursday. The federal police also used a tracking dog to search for clues.
