The dates are now official.

The trial of the Troadec affair, this quadruple assassination that occurred in Orvault (Loire-Atlantique) in 2017, will be held over three weeks from June 21 to July 9 in Nantes.

The announcement was made this Friday by the first president of the Rennes court of appeal.

Hubert Caouissin, 50, a former state worker in the Brest arsenal with no criminal record, will be tried by the Loire-Atlantique Assize Court for murder preceded, accompanied or followed by another crime, and infringement of integrity of corpses.

His partner, Lydie Troadec, 51, will be tried for concealing corpses and modifying the evidence of a crime.

For this trial, which promises to be exceptional, two presidents of the Assize Court will sit to allow a replacement in the event of illness, said magistrate Xavier Ronsin.

Killed with doe kicks

The main defendant admitted in March 2017 the murders of his brother-in-law Pascal Troadec and the wife of the latter Brigitte, 49, and their two children, aged 20 and 18 in their house, killed with gunshots. crowbar.

He told investigators that he wanted to recover gold bars allegedly stolen by Pascal Troadec but whose existence has never been demonstrated.

Hubert Caouissin confessed to having dismembered his victims then to have made disappear the bodies, by burning them in his boiler or by dispersing their corpses in his farm of Pont-de-Buis-lès-Quimerch (Finistère), where he lived with his son and his partner Lydie Troadec.

Human remains - but not the skulls - were found in this vast and isolated property, allowing the four victims to be identified.

No evidence of premeditation

Hubert Caouissin had been indicted for murder and placed in pre-trial detention.

The investigation ultimately failed to provide proof of the premeditated murder, the investigating judges instead describing a "proven delirium of persecution and conviction of family spoliation".

His partner had been indicted for "modification of the inventory of a crime" and "concealment of corpses", and placed under judicial control.

Nantes investigating judges ordered their indictment before the Assize Court on September 8, 2020.
