Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - The Saarland Prime Minister Tobias Hans (CDU) will today issue a government statement on further measures to contain the corona pandemic.

The members of parliament are then discussed in a special session of the state parliament.

According to a new ordinance that comes into force on January 11th, the Saarlanders have to be prepared for massive restrictions until the end of January.

The lockdown that has existed since mid-December will be extended and in some cases even tightened.

The retail trade, with the exception of shops for daily needs, is still dense - as is the gastronomy as well as cultural and leisure facilities. Private get-togethers are generally only permitted with members of your own household and with a maximum of one other person. So far, a maximum of five people from two households were allowed to come together.
