Uelzen (dpa / lni) - On Friday, people in Lower Saxony have to be prepared for snow and slippery roads in areas.

In the Weserbergland and Harz mountains, the roads were slippery early in the morning because of the snowfall, as a meteorologist from the German Weather Service announced on Friday.

In Uelzen, for example, winter service vehicles were used to grit the roads.

Caution should also be exercised during the day, as slush can create a risk of slipping.

According to the meteorologist, there was no risk of ice in the Emsland and southern Lower Saxony early on Friday morning. The police had not reported on ice accidents during the night, which also applied in the early morning, as a spokesman for the Hanover police said. The streets in Göttingen are also slippery, but hardly anyone has been on the road, said a police spokesman. According to a spokesman, there were initially no accidents in Lüneburg despite the damp and wet streets.
