GIGN gendarmes arrested a couple of relatives in Joinville in Haute-Marne.

Summoned to hand over his three children to social services, the father refused to entrust his youngest, 6 years old.

He took refuge in his home with his partner and the child, threatening to burn down the house, kill his son before committing suicide.

A couple of parents, holed up at their home with their child, was arrested this Friday around 4:00 am by elite GIGN gendarmes who stormed Joinville, in Haute-Marne.

The day before, the couple was summoned to hand over their three children to social services, by court order.

But the father refused to entrust the youngest, 6 years old.

Threatens to kill the child and then commit suicide 

This man, already known for cases of armed violence, was then locked in his home with his partner and their son, threatening to burn down the home and end the child's life before committing suicide.

After a whole night of negotiations to try to put an end to the situation, the GIGN stormed and took over the house.

The child was found in good health, his parents were arrested and taken into custody.
