Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - Because of a kitchen fire in a high-rise building in Saarbrücken, several residents have been temporarily brought to safety.
On the sixth floor of the building, two men had apparently prepared French fries on the stove on Thursday evening and then forgot to take the pot with the frying oil off the hot plate, the police said.
The fat then probably caught fire.
Although the men were able to put out the fire, several residents of the high-rise were initially brought to safety due to the heavy smoke development.
One person was admitted to hospital slightly injured.
The apartment in which the fire broke out is no longer habitable for the time being.
