Chaired by the Deputy Minister of Justice, Bernard Takaish, the ceremony will be held at Makala prison.

A prison where

Colonel Eddy Kapend

and the 22 other people imprisoned for the assassination of Laurent-Désiré Kabila are held.

Gradually

Will the 23 be free later?

Contacted this Thursday, the vice-minister did not confirm that the releases will all be effective during the day.

He added that the releases would be done gradually.

Because these people convicted in the Kabila case are not the only ones who can be released this Friday.

The presidential pardon granted by Félix Tshisekedi concerns several dozen detainees and nothing says that those condemned in the Kabila-father file will be the first to cross the doors of the penitentiary.

Not on weekends

As the releases cannot be made on weekends, they could be made during the next week.

A week that will end with the anniversary of

the death of Laurent-Désiré Kabila

, it was almost 20 years ago, on January 16, 2001.
