Saarbrücken (dpa / lrs) - In order to make it easier to book appointments for corona vaccinations, the Saarland is introducing a vaccination list from Monday (January 11).

"Every authorized citizen can be entered on this list and is then automatically informed of an appointment depending on availability," said the Saarland Minister of Health Monika Bachmann (CDU) on Friday.

Once placed on the list, the person willing to vaccinate is registered: The list is processed continuously according to deadlines that become available.

The way via such a list is special nationwide.

"I don't know that another federal state has such a list," said Bachmann.

The list replaces the previous online booking system and will be activated on Monday at 7 a.m.

Registered persons received the appointment notification by SMS, e-mail or post.

The list is intended to help people who want to be vaccinated not have to repeatedly call the hotline - and then hear that there may be no more appointments at the moment.

"It brings more satisfaction."

The minister said that the system was constantly being optimized.

But no more appointments could be given than the vaccine was available.

According to conservative estimates, it is assumed that the Saarland could get the first delivery of the vaccine from Moderna at the end of next week.

Around 120,000 Saarlanders are first entitled to the Federal Vaccination Ordinance and the Standing Vaccination Commission.

Bachmann assumed that the second group could start in April.

This group would affect 150,000 to 180,000 people.

"As things stand now, it is conceivable that a nationwide vaccination would be possible after the second quarter, that is, in the middle of this year."

According to the Robert Koch Institute, 7358 people (as reported: Friday 11 a.m.) have been vaccinated against the corona virus in the state.

This means that the rate is 7.5 vaccinations per 1000 inhabitants and thus above the national average for the federal states of 5.7.

According to the Federal Ministry of Health, Saarland will receive a total of 78,000 vaccine doses from Biontech / Pfizer by mid-February.

By Thursday (January 7th) the state had received 19,500 vaccine doses.

Today, Friday, another 9750 vaccine doses should come, as well as on 18th / 19th
