Biden focuses on the handover of power and leaves to Congress what he deems appropriate in questioning the president

A spokesman for the transition team of US President-elect Joe Biden said that he is focusing on preparing to take power and leaves to Congress, incumbent Vice President Mike Pence, and the government of Donald Trump to "act as they see fit" in the matter of impeaching the president and the 25th amendment to the Constitution.

Spokesman Andrew Bates made the statement in response to a Reuters question about calls for Trump to be impeached and immediately removed after his supporters attacked the US Capitol on Wednesday.

"President-elect Biden and Vice President Harris are focusing on their duty, which is preparing to take power on the twentieth of this month, and they will leave Pence, the vice president, government and Congress to act as they see fit," Bates said.
