The Real Madrid stars faced unprecedented conditions and had to stay for hours inside the plane that was supposed to take them to face Osasuna on Saturday in the Spanish League.

Snow at Barajas Airport in Madrid prevented the Royal Club plane from taking off in the direction of Pamplona in northwestern Spain, home of Osasuna.

The team spent more than 3 hours on the plane, and a Real Madrid spokesman said, "We have been informed that visibility is poor, the airport runways are closed, and snow removal machines are working for the landing."

"The feeling of anger cannot be suppressed," he added.

A number of journalists close to the club conveyed information confirming the team’s anger at the decisions of the Spanish League (Liga), due to their insistence on the team’s travel despite meteorological forecasts that warned of bad weather conditions.

Journalist Jose Luis Sanchez stated that the crisis ended with the take-off of the plane after about 3 and a half hours of waiting, which means that the match will take place as scheduled on Saturday evening.

And entered the Spanish capital, Madrid, and a large part of the neighboring Castilla-La Mancha region, a state of high alert beginning on Friday evening, with meteorologists predicting the largest amount of snow in decades due to the storm "Felomena".

The severe weather conditions forced the plane - which was carrying the Athletic Bilbao team - to return to the Basque Country after it was not allowed to land at Madrid airport, which raises doubts about the holding of the confrontation between Athletic Bilbao and Atletico Madrid scheduled for Saturday.
