Congress certified Joe Biden's election to the White House after a day of unprecedented violence Wednesday in Washington.

Supporters of Donald Trump have wreaked havoc on the Capitol, temple of American democracy.

Police officers drawing their weapons in the heart of the Congress of the United States, elected officials protected by gas masks, demonstrators breaking windows ... Images of the coup, taken inside the temple of American democracy , reveal scenes worthy of a coup.

A woman was fatally injured by Washington Police fire and three others were killed in the Capitol Hill area.

The police are refraining for the moment from directly linking these last three deaths to the violence.

In the middle of the night, after the rejection of objections from Republican elected officials and before the two houses gathered for a special session, Vice President Mike Pence confirmed the victory of Democrat Joe Biden, with 306 voters against 232 for the outgoing president.
