January 07, 2021Paul Irving, security officer of the US House of Representatives, resigned following the assault by pro Trump protesters on the Congress building.



This was announced by the speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, who also asked for the resignation of the head of the Capitol Police, Steven Sund, who, according to "Politico", intends to remain in his post.

Pelosi complained that Sund "didn't even call us since what happened."



The leader of the dem in the Senate, Chuck Schumer, for his part has promised that he will fire the head of security Mike Stenger after the inauguration of the new US administration.

"If security officer Stenger hasn't left the position by then, I'll fire him as soon as the Democrats have a majority in the Senate," he assured.
