The Yamagata prefectural governor's election was announced on the 7th, and so far two people, including incumbents and newcomers, have run for the first time in 12 years.

For the first time in the whole country, the governor's election is expected to be a battle between women.

The candidates who have run for the Yamagata Governor's election so far are unaffiliated in the order of notification,


▽ newcomer, former Yamagata Prefectural Assembly member Rika Ouchi (57) recommended by the Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Prefectural Headquarters, and


▽ 4th term Mieko Yoshimura (69), who is in the current position aiming for the eyes, is voluntarily supported by the prefectural organizations of the Constitutional Democratic Party, the Communist Party, and the Democratic Party for the People.



After completing the notification, the two made their first voice in Yamagata City.



Candidate Ouchi said, "The fact that there was no election for 12 years means that we did not have the opportunity to inform the current situation of Yamagata. The prefecture and municipalities must work together with the national government to change the flow of prefectural government. I complained.



Candidate Yoshimura said, "Overcoming the new corona and economic revitalization are the biggest challenges of the current prefectural government. We will work together with the citizens of the prefecture to overcome the difficult situation and create Yamagata where we can feel true joy and happiness."



This governor's election is the first election campaign in 12 years since Mr. Yoshimura was first elected in 2009, and is expected to be the first women's battle in Japan.



Candidates will be accepted at the prefectural office until 5 pm, and votes will be counted on the 24th of this month, except for some areas, and the votes will be counted on the same day.
