Berlin (dpa / bb) - Three Berlin lottery players became millionaires last year.

A lucky guy from Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf won more than 2.7 million euros in February, according to a balance sheet of the Deutsche Klassenlotterie Berlin (DKLB), which is available to the German Press Agency.

A player from Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg won over 1.2 million euros in September.

The millionaire from the special Santa Claus raffle in December from Hohenschönhausen (profit: one million euros) is still being sought.

Lotto Berlin called on you to look again at the refrigerator or in your wallet.

According to the Lotto, there were just as many millionaires in 2020 as the year before.

In total, over 36.2 million game orders were placed last year, 200,000 more than in 2019. The total of major prizes (over 5,000 euros) fell from almost 24 million to around 22.5 million.

The number of big winners also fell from 799 to 785 winners.

Nationwide, the lottery companies won 145 million in 2020 - 20 more than in 2019. Most of them went to the most populous state of North Rhine-Westphalia (31), followed by Baden-Württemberg (29) and Bavaria (17).

There were no millions in profits in Bremen, one in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and two in Hamburg.

In 2020, lottery prizes of 100,000 euros and more were transferred to lucky people in Germany 1,094 times.

That was 121 more than in the previous year.
