Overseas Network, January 7 According to the Washington Post, two suspicious homemade bombs were found near the headquarters of the Republican National Committee and the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee in Washington, USA.
According to people familiar with the matter, the suspicious bomb near the headquarters of the Republican National Committee was found next to a trash can. The homemade bomb was a metal tube with a metal cover. A wire extended from the inside of the tube and connected to a plastic timer on.
The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) issued a statement stating that its explosives experts have inspected the two devices and related investigations are still ongoing.
The Republican National Committee said in a statement that the suspicious package outside its building was "an explosive device that has been successfully detonated."
In addition, two people familiar with the investigation said that federal agents are also investigating a truck found outside the headquarters of the Republican National Committee. The truck contained rifles, shotguns, large amounts of ammunition, and so on.
Federal agents are still trying to determine whether the vehicle and its contents are related to a suspicious pipeline bomb previously discovered.
