Karlstadt (dpa / lby) - So far unknown people have put up several posters over a railroad track in the Lower Franconian district of Main-Spessart.

An ICE from Schweinfurt drove through one of the tarpaulins stretched through wooden slats.

The train driver then had to initiate an emergency braking at Karlstadt, said a police spokesman on Thursday.

Nobody was injured in the incident on Wednesday afternoon.

The railcar was slightly damaged.

The spokesman did not want to say what was on the posters for tactical reasons, as it was about perpetrator knowledge.

Police found other posters along the railway line between Waigolshausen and Gemünden, also stretched over the track with wooden slats, and removed them.

The railway line was temporarily closed during the investigation. The motive of the perpetrators is currently unclear.
