Osnabrück (dpa / lni) - After the surprising victory at leaders Holstein Kiel, the other extreme awaits VfL Osnabrück.

The purple-whites will receive the Würzburger Kickers on Saturday (1 p.m. / Sky) and thus the bottom of the table in the 2nd Bundesliga.

But VfL coach Marco Grote demands the same attitude from his team as he did last Sunday in Kiel.

"Names and places in the table are bogus in this league, you experience that week after week," said Grote on Thursday.

"Week after week it's about putting our best performance on the pitch."

Most recently, VfL succeeded in an impressive 2-1 win in Kiel.

So Grote does not have a big reason to change his team.

Especially since the personnel situation is good, with the exception of long-term injuries.

"We have all available that are possible," said Grote, who took the Kickers under the microscope on Wednesday evening on TV in the 1-1 draw against FC St. Pauli.

"Yesterday they got very physically, but in the weeks before they had already shown football approaches," said Grote.

“There are definitely some good footballers in there.

We have to resist and defend ourselves. "
