Caring for snakes and reptiles is a dangerous hobby that led the young man, Maher Al Marqab, to a job he was not expecting to occupy one day, as he turned from an amateur sheltering some reptiles in his home to a trainer who tames and treats reptiles, while working at Al Ain Zoo.

The 37-year-old monitor confirmed to "Emirates Today" that his attachment to reptiles and animals began when he was 18 years old, as he had a passion for following channels that offer films and documentaries about the animal world, so he developed a love for these creatures, prompted him to read about them, and then began A journey to search for reptiles in the wild and acquire some of them, beginning with spiders and scorpions, then snakes.

The observer said: “After completing my high school I tried to turn my hobby into a field of work, especially after I had the opportunity to join the profession of trainer in the zoo in Al Ain, to live among reptiles and animals, so I turned into a professional person in dealing with reptiles, after I became a first animal observer in the department Reptiles ».

He added, "During my work in the zoo, I learned ways to deal with animals, how to treat them if they got sick, and the food they need."

The observer emphasized that he is seeking an opportunity to convert his profession, hobby and passion for reptiles into an academic study, to become a reptile specialist, by studying at any of the international universities concerned with these sciences.
