Direct. Last minute on the coronavirus
The positives for Covid-19 have increased in 15 of the 23 municipalities and Basic Health Zones of the Community of Madrid that remain confined precisely to try to contain the spread of the virus.
Of the eight areas in which the cumulative incidence has fallen to 14 days, only two -
General Moscardó
, in the Tetuán district of the capital, and
Mayor Bartolomé González
, in the municipality of Móstoles - are already below 400 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the threshold from
r from which the restrictions are adopted. From the Executive of Isabel Díaz Ayuso they have appealed to the Government Delegation mainly, but also to the municipalities, on whom the local police depend, to be employed with
more "forcefulness" in the control of mobility
in all those areas that should only be entered or exited due to force majeure, such as going to work or taking care of a dependent person.
"We have shown that when acting in a surgical way, selectively, the decrease in the number of cases occurs significantly," defends the Minister of Health, Enrique Ruiz Escudero. Two of the Basic Health Zones where the cases have been confined for more than a month:
The morale
, in the town of Alcobendas, and
Sanchinarro
, in the Hortaleza district of Madrid.
The restrictions in both will be in force in principle until 00:00 on Monday, January 11, but everything indicates that the update of measures that will be announced this Friday will be extended for at least one more week, until the 18th. with an upward trend in the number of infections the reference areas of the health centers of

and Torrelodones, which also covers the town of Hoyo de Manzanares. The same upward evolution of the positives has been detected in the five municipalities that remain closed in their entirety today:
Ciempozuelos, Navalcarnero, Algete, Mejorada del Campo and Villarejo de Salvanés
.
The latter also leads the cumulative incidence ranking in Madrid, with 1,258 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In contrast, in addition to General Moscardó and Mayor Bartolomé González, the infection rate has also decreased by

Third wave?
On average, the cumulative incidence in the Community of Madrid as a whole follows the increasing path of recent weeks and already reaches the level of
390 cases per 100,000 inhabitants
.
The Ministry of Health has not yet determined whether it is already the third wave of the coronavirus that hits the region -after those of March and April and September- or it is “a rebound due to the increase in social relations »During the Christmas holidays. The general director of Public Health, Elena Andradas, insists that
most infections occur in family settings
.
For this reason, remember that it is essential to have the mask "permanently" placed in closed spaces - except in the case of cohabitants - and only take it off to consume food or drink. According to the latest weekly epidemiological report on the situation of Covid-19 in the region , dozens of districts, neighborhoods, areas and municipalities in full in Madrid exceed the index of 400 infections per 100,000 inhabitants
from which mobility restrictions are adopted
together with stricter limits on capacity in public spaces than in the rest of the region.
In addition, to determine if selective confinements are applied, it is taken into account if the trend of the cases is stable or increasing and that the geographical limits allow the control of movements.
