US President Trump, who is responsible for defending democracy, seemed to inspire the protesters rather than stop them.

As a result, the protests that started peacefully at first became more and more intense, leading to unprecedented violence in the Capitol.

The beginning of the protest against the presidential election was peaceful.

Even in cold weather, Trump supporters from across the country filled the lawn in front of the White House.

The courts also refused to accept Trump's alleged elections as unfounded, but supporters criticized the court.

[Tracy/Trump supporter: I don't understand why the courts aren't listening to the (unfavorable election claims).

The courts are saying they just don't want to hear it.] Some

people climbed up the tree to get a better look at President Trump's speech.

As Trump's speech progressed, his supporters began to get excited.

Trump supporters marched to Congress to stop Congress from officially making Biden-elect president.

The protesters suddenly began to wield violence, climbing walls and attempting to enter the interior of the Capitol.

The lawmakers trembled and hid themselves under the seats of the plenary hall.

[Get down!]

[Peter Welch/Democratic Congressman: The tear gas was fired from the inside of the Capitol, and lawmakers were instructed to wear gas masks under their seats.]

Council guards pointed guns at the door of the main hall, but it was not enough.

Protesters put their shoes on the desk of House Speaker Pelosi, and even sat on the Senate platform, proclaiming President Trump's victory.

[Kevin/Trump supporter: The people are the owners of the Congress.

There was a lot of illegal things going on, so I wanted to go in to see if the council was working legally.] Only after the

police fired tear gas in a large scale, managed to get the violent protesters out of the Capitol.

As a nighttime curfew was imposed in Washington, DC, the state defense forces blitz around the Capitol.

Protesters continued to protest until late at night and confronted them.

In 200 years, Congress, a symbol of American democracy, was indelibly wounded by the violence of protesters and the poor response of the authorities.
