The Mossos d'Esquadra arrested a 27-year-old man of Ecuadorian nationality yesterday for allegedly killing a 30-year-old man of Spanish nationality after stabbing him with a knife in his belly after an argument in the Trinitat neighborhood of the Sant Andreu district.

On Monday afternoon, a verbal fight broke out between the victim and two other people, and one of them, allegedly the detainee this Wednesday, pulled out a knife and stabbed him several times.

It is the first crime in Barcelona this year.

After stabilizing him on the street, the emergency medical services transferred the victim to the hospital since the injuries were serious and he died this Wednesday as a result of the injuries.

The Mossos d'Esquadra began an investigation to locate the two people who argued with the victim and this Wednesday they identified and detained one of them, the alleged perpetrator of the stabbing.

He is charged with a crime of murder.
