Mainz (dpa / lrs) - The Abitur exams begin today for around 12,000 students in Rhineland-Palatinate.
In contrast to other federal states such as Saarland, the exams were not postponed despite the restrictions of the corona situation.
"We want our students to achieve their qualifications and that they then have qualifications that they can be proud of," said Education Minister Stefanie Hubig (SPD).
In Rhineland-Palatinate, 9,500 young people in grade 13 of G9 high schools take the exams, as do 3,000 high school graduates at integrated comprehensive schools. The written work in the various subjects extends until January 27th. In addition to the general hygiene and cleaning measures, a distance of as much as two meters was specified for the tests. The exams for around 1200 pupils at G8 grammar schools with a grammar school time of eight years begin on April 30, as well as for around 2500 graduates from vocational grammar schools.
