American rapper and legendary producer Dr. Dre announced on Tuesday that he was doing "well" after being hospitalized in Los Angeles with suspected brain aneurysm.

“I am doing very well and receiving excellent care from my medical team,” the music mogul said on Instagram as information about his condition began to circulate.

"I will be out of the hospital and going home soon. Thank you all the great health professionals at Cedars. One Love !!"

The 55-year-old rapper, real name Andre Young, is one of hip-hop's most influential figures.

He rose to fame with the pioneers of NWA gangsta rap in the 1980s.

In the following decade, he founded Death Row Records, then Beats Eletronics, his headphone company, bought by Apple for millions of dollars.

Dre has worked with the greatest rap artists like Eminem, of whom he was the mentor, Snoop Dogg or Combs, and started gangsta rap and G-Funk on the west coast.

The news of the rapper's hospitalization had triggered a wave of concern on social media, especially from friends like Ice Cube, who tweeted: “Send your love and prayers to friend Dr. Dre ".

“GET WELL DR DRE WE NEED U CUZ” (Get well Dr Dre, we need you), Snoop Dogg wrote on Instagram.
