The TousAntiCovid application will adopt new features in the coming weeks.

In particular, it will be possible to make an appointment to be vaccinated against Covid-19 but also to scan a QR code at the entrance of restaurants to signal his presence ... when the establishments reopen.

The government is not letting AllAntiCovid go.

The application for tracing contact cases and information on the Covid-19 epidemic could soon be used as part of the acceleration of the vaccination campaign.

"We are going to open in the coming days a possible registration for French people who wish it by Internet, by phone no doubt, and why not by the application TousAntiCovid, so that those who wish to be vaccinated can let it know, register and can make appointments, "said Minister of Health Olivier Véran on Tuesday on RTL.

But this is not the only novelty that will be brought to TousAntiCovid in the coming weeks.

Restaurants, when they can reopen, are also affected.

Priority to the QR code in restaurants

Integrating vaccination into TousAntiCovid "is under study", confirms Cédric O's cabinet at Europe 1. The Secretary of State for Digital is closely monitoring the development and updates of the application.

"We are looking at the subjects. Ditto for the number of vaccinated, the figures will be available soon," we add.

Details should be provided on Thursday during the government's epidemic point.

The idea is to maintain the (relative) interest of the French in TousAntiCovid by ensuring that it becomes the most complete information tool possible.

But making an appointment for a vaccination is not the only avenue for improvement on the table.

Priority is currently given to the reopening of restaurants and according to information from Europe 1, the QR code system to be scanned at the entrance of establishments is progressing well.

The TousAntiCovid teams had set themselves the goal of being ready by January 20, the date initially chosen for the reopening.

"We will be ready on January 20. And if it is postponed, we will take the opportunity to refine," says a source to Europe 1.

Revive interest in TousAntiCovid

The QR code system will be used to break the chains of contamination.

When entering a restaurant, it will be possible to scan the QR code highlighted by the manager, via TousAntiCovid, instead of the reminder book to be completed.

If a person passed through the establishment is tested positive for Covid after coming, the other customers present at the same time are then warned via the application of the risk of contamination and invited to be tested.

The government hopes that this process will reopen restaurants while limiting the spread of the epidemic.

And encourage the French passenger to use TousAntiCovid, used today by 12 million people.

"This is not enough", one recognizes in the entourage of Cédric O. In fact, the Secretary of State had set the objective of 15 million users in mid-December.

Since the holidays, the number of new users daily has peaked at around 20,000, too few to reach this goal in the coming weeks.
