Frankfurt / Berlin / Essen (dpa) - After renewed warning strikes in the Deutsche Bank call centers, the Verdi union is expecting movement on the employers' side.

"Now it is the bank's turn to see whether it wants to re-enter negotiations with an improved offer," said Verdi negotiator Roman Eberle on Wednesday.

"If there is no response, we will definitely take further measures."

So far, there has been no date for a fifth round in the collective bargaining negotiations that have been going on since July for the approximately 650 employees of Deutsche Bank Direkt GmbH.

On Wednesday morning, a standstill in the call centers of the largest German financial institution in Berlin and Essen had come to an end since January 2nd.

According to Verdi, up to 75 percent of those who were assigned to duty for those days took part in the warning strikes.

In some cases, callers therefore had to accept longer waiting times.

In addition to telephone customer service, the tasks of DB Direkt also include direct sales of selected Deutsche Bank banking products.

The union is demanding six percent more salaries for employees retroactively from April 1, 2020, but at least 150 euros.

In addition, the union wants to enforce a choice between money and free time and the introduction of a 13th month salary.

According to Verdi, the employer side has offered 1.5 percent more money from November 2020 and a further increase of 1.5 percent from January 1, 2022.

Already in September and December there had been warning strikes in the call centers of Deutsche Bank.
