Elsdorf (dpa / lnw) - During an alleged police check on the A4 near Cologne, tricksters have cost a driver several thousand euros.
As the police of the Rhein-Erft district announced on Wednesday, the three strangers had overtaken their victim, who was traveling with a car and trailer with Ukrainian registration, with their car.
The co-driver held up a police sign and waved the 30-year-old off the autobahn at the Elsdorf exit.
One of the perpetrators got out and asked the man to give him his ID and all cash to check the authenticity.
The trio then raced away with the booty.
