Lille achieved the poor performance of the evening by being surprised at home (2-1) by an attractive team from Angers, Wednesday during the 18th day of Ligue 1.

Le Losc, which conceded its first defeat of the season on its lawn, abandons its second place at Paris SG, hung in Saint-Etienne (1-1), and sees Lyon, who beat Lens (3-2), s '' escape with a three-point lead at the top of the standings.

The Northerners had a catastrophic first period.

They tried to snatch the draw after the break but lacked precision to destabilize an opponent very well in place.

The SCO, very comfortable away from home for a few weeks, created a surprise thanks to a superb start to the match: a very quick double from defender Romain Thomas (6th, 11th) put the Angevins on the path to success. not even having trembled after the reduction of the score by Burak Yilmaz (42nd).

Stéphane Moulin's men, winners of Marseille just before the break, climb to a promising 7th place with 30 points, just six lengths from Lille.

- The unrecognizable Losc -

From the outset, the SCO imposed a heavy pressing which stifled the Mastiffs and quickly bore fruit.

After a first strike from Mathias Pereira Lage countered (3rd), the Angevins opened the scoring on a strike from Thomas after a poorly cleared cross by Tiago Djalo (1-0, 6th).

For the first time this season, Losc found themselves behind in the league.

And the situation worsened shortly after when Thomas offered himself a double by taking a corner with his head (2-0, 11th).

Angers thus confirmed its status as the best team from a corner with this sixth goal this season.

It's just the opposite for Lille, which has already conceded five in this exercise, the worst total for a Ligue 1 club.

Stunned, the Losc took a long time to react.

Unrecognizable, Christophe Galtier's players seemed to lack rhythm and showed a very unusual technical waste.

However, Yimaz revived his team shortly before half-time on Lille's first opportunity of the first period: Jonathan Bamba threw the Turk into the box and the latter reduced the score with a cross strike in the small net (2 -1, 42nd).

This eighth goal from the center forward finally woke up the Northerners who finished the first act well and started the second with a bang.

Thus, Yilmaz went close to doubling from the start but his goal was refused for a prior hand from Jonathan David (48th).

The Angevin block then contained very well the timid offensive Lille.

Despite an impressive Benjamin André, the Losc failed to erase its technical waste, which strongly penalized it.

Apart from a free kick from Yilmaz who crashed on the crossbar (78th) and a stop by Paul Bernardoni at the last second (90th + 6), the Mastiffs did not endanger the SCO.
