Hamburg (dpa / lno) - The Hamburg Senate has decided to extend and tighten the corona lockdown until the end of January.

The existing restrictions continue to apply, some new measures will be added, said Mayor Peter Tschentscher (SPD) on Wednesday after a special session of the Senate.

Accordingly, until the end of January, members of one household are only allowed to meet with one person from another household.

The new rules should apply from Friday.

Tschentscher appealed to the citizens to forego contacts outside of their own household as completely as possible.

The Senate also decided to restrict freedom of movement to a radius of 15 kilometers around the place of residence if more than 200 people per 100,000 inhabitants were infected within seven days.

On Wednesday, the so-called incidence, according to the health authority, was 144.2.

However, the value of the Robert Koch Institute, which was given on Wednesday as 112.9, will be binding.

With the resolutions, the Senate implements agreements that the Prime Minister agreed with the Chancellor on Tuesday.
