Former Republican President George W. Bush has indicated through his spokesperson that he will attend Joe Biden's swearing-in on January 20.

This will be the eighth oath they will attend.

“Despite our political differences, I know Joe Biden is a good man,” said the former president.

"President and Mrs. Bush are eager to return to Capitol Hill for the swearing-in of President Biden and Vice President Harris," tweeted Freddy Ford, spokesperson for the 43rd President in history.

George W. Bush called Joe Biden to congratulate him

"Attending the peaceful transfer of power is a highlight of our democracy that never goes out of fashion," he added, in a thinly veiled allusion to Donald Trump who still refuses to acknowledge his defeat.

The day after Joe Biden's victory was announced, on November 7, George W. Bush called him to congratulate him.

"Despite our political differences, I know that Joe Biden is a good man who has won the opportunity to lead and unify our country," the former tenant of the White House (2001-2009) wrote in a statement.
