Dresden (dpa / sn) - There was a fire in a cell on the ground floor of the correctional facility in Dresden.

As the fire department announced on Wednesday, a man was injured.

He was first treated by an emergency doctor and then taken to the hospital.

No information was given about his identity.

The fire brigade put out the fire with 42 emergency services and then ventilated the building so that the smoke could escape.

What burned in the detention room and how it came about has yet to be determined.

According to the Ministry of Justice, no other rooms were affected.

There were also no other prisoners or employees with injuries.

The security of the institution was not endangered.
