"Unfortunately, we can not do what it looks like today," says Tony Sjödin, head of public transport administration in the Dalarna Region.
This is despite the fact that the Swedish Public Health Agency recommends that public transport companies ensure that there is mouth protection for those travelers who cannot bring their own.
According to Sjödin, the reason is that Region Dalarna, which is the principal for both healthcare and public transport in the county, does not have enough mouth guards.
- We do not know what it looks like going forward.
That decision lies with the politicians, he says.
Mouthguards are recommended where space cannot be booked
According to the new general guidelines that come into force tomorrow, the responsibility lies primarily with the traveler himself.
People who travel by public transport, where it is not possible to keep their distance by booking a place, are recommended to wear mouth guards during the times on weekdays when many people usually travel: 7-9 am and 4-6 pm weekdays.
The council is aimed at people born in 2004 and earlier, ie people of upper secondary school age and older.
The big cities offer protection
At the beginning of the week, the industry organization Swedish Public Transport held a meeting with its members, and it was stated according to Sjödin that public transport in the metropolitan regions of Stockholm, Gothenburg and Skåne will be able to offer their travelers mouth protection.
In the clip, the head of the public transport administration tells how they prepared for the oral protection requirement and which trips should be avoided.

I cycled and walked everywhere until I got covid19.
Nowadays I can only take a bus.

Lost my job last fall due to the pandemic, but have been so lucky that I managed to get a new job in my old hometown (where I still wanted to move back for several years).
Unfortunately I do not have access to a car, so there will be trains when I move in a few days.
Have booked a place and hope that people keep their distance!

In these times, everyone should help and not travel at all.

Incredibly comical and ironic with all these understand-it-yourselfers who think that we who keep Sweden's economy going (by working 100%) travel collectively because it's fun.
The goodness heat is in full swing ...

Air travelers must have mouth guards.
Has there been any research on the spread of infection during air travel?
If everyone has a mouth guard, the spread cannot be that great because everyone wears a mouth guard so as not to infect others!

Do not travel collectively at all!
A matter of course to give it up!

Would not occur to me to be trapped in a train car, bus or other means of public transport now.
It is obvious that companies that claim to have taken action do not mean real action.
At most, it is a plexiglass sheet between the customer and the person standing at the checkout and some stickers on the floor.
The air and infectious particles do not care about that!
If you are indoors in the same room as an infected person, the risk is extremely high.
