Potsdam (dpa / bb) - After the announcement that the existing corona lockdown would be extended and tightened, the Brandenburg district council urges that the rules be carefully implemented.
The restriction of the range of motion to 15 kilometers in Corona hotspots should only apply to tourist excursions, said the executive board, Paul-Peter Humpert, on Wednesday.
Shopping and visits to the doctor that cannot be done just around the corner in Brandenburg should still be possible.
Everything else is not reasonable.
"We strongly advise against writing a restriction with 15 exceptions in the regulation that no one understands", Humpert noted.
It is important that the country implement this carefully and understandably in the regulation.
The restriction is a “clear signal” to people to stay at home.
The heads of government of the federal and state governments agreed on Tuesday, among other things, that the states in counties with a seven-day incidence of more than 200 should limit people's range of motion to 15 kilometers around their place of residence.
Only citizens with a valid reason would be exempt.
In Brandenburg, the districts of Dahme-Spreewald, Elbe-Elster, Oberspreewald-Lausitz, Oder-Spree, Ostprignitz-Ruppin, Prignitz and Spree-Neisse as well as the independent cities of Cottbus, Potsdam and Frankfurt (Oder) have such high values of over 200.

The regulation is an important decision for Brandenburg - after all, it affects seven districts and three independent cities, said Humpert.
The cabinet is expected to adopt the new regulation on Friday.
