A second vaccine against the coronavirus has been approved in the European Union.

As the EU Commission announced in Brussels on Wednesday, it approved the preparation of the US manufacturer Moderna.

Shortly before, the European Medicines Agency (EMA) in Amsterdam had recommended the use of the vaccine.

Two and a half weeks ago, the Commission had approved the vaccine from Biontech and Pfizer, which has been administered across Europe since December 27.
