The Emir of the State of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, said in a tweet on Twitter that he participated in the Al-Ula summit in a sense of historical responsibility and meeting the hopes of the people, in order to heal the rift and hope for a better future for the region, while statements of Arab and international welcome to the Gulf summit continue to open the borders between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

The Emir of the State of Qatar thanked "the brothers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the generous reception," and also thanked "the sisterly State of Kuwait for their appreciated efforts."

The State of Qatar welcomed the "Al-Ula" declaration that was issued on the sidelines of the 41st session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab Gulf States.

A statement by the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Gulf meeting comes at a decisive moment, which constitutes an extension of the course of joint action and a precedence of the supreme interest and the consolidation of the principles of good neighborliness and mutual respect.

The Qatari Foreign Ministry affirmed that the Al-Ula declaration came as a complement to the sincere efforts led by the late Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, which was completed by the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.

The State of Qatar also appreciated the efforts exerted by the United States of America in converging views.

The Qatari statement said that the unity of the Gulf ranks and the restoration of the unity of the peoples of the region on the basis of solidarity, growth and stability have always been a priority for the State of Qatar.

Solidarity and stability

For his part, Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman affirmed that the Al-Ula Agreement - signed by the leaders of the Gulf Cooperation Council states - emphasized the solidarity and stability of the Gulf, Arab and Islamic countries, in order to strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among the peoples of the Gulf countries.

Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan said that the Al-Ula summit completely turned the page on the disagreement and announced the complete return of diplomatic relations between the members of the Gulf Cooperation Council states and Egypt.

He added that the "Al-Ula" declaration is not related to Iran or any other country. Rather, it aims primarily to achieve rapprochement between the countries of the region.

In an interview with CNBC, the Saudi minister stated that the leaders of the countries of the region will work together to coordinate their regional policies.

A UN international welcome

Since Tuesday, statements of Arab and international welcome have continued with the statement of the Gulf summit and the opening of the borders between Qatar and Saudi Arabia.

Farhan Haq, Deputy Spokesman for the Secretary-General of the United Nations, welcomed the announcement of the opening of airspace, borders, land and sea between Saudi Arabia and the State of Qatar.

Haq said that the international organization hopes that all concerned countries will act positively to continue resolving their differences.

The US National Security Council praised the Gulf Cooperation Council and the leaders of Saudi Arabia and Qatar for taking what it said were "bold steps to resolve the Gulf dispute."

The White House's National Security Council said the unity of the Gulf is critical to prosperity and security in the region.

He added that Washington stands with its partners in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in a new phase of cooperation.

The US State Department also welcomed the final statement of the Gulf Cooperation Council summit, and considered the “Al-Ula” declaration issued by the summit as a positive step towards restoring Gulf and Arab unity.

A statement by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the unity of the Gulf will bring additional prosperity through the free flow of goods and services and more security for the people of the GCC countries.

The statement welcomed the pledge to restore military, economic and health cooperation, combating corruption and cultural initiatives, expressing his country's hope that the Gulf states will continue to settle their differences.

Final statement

Yesterday, the leaders and heads of delegations of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries signed the final statement of the 41st Gulf summit, and the statement emphasized the development of solid relations and respect for the principles of good neighborliness.

The statement praised the efforts and good endeavors made by the late Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to heal the rift between member states, and expressed thanks and appreciation for the efforts of the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Nawwaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the efforts of the United States of America as well.

The statement welcomed the return of joint Gulf action to its normal course, strengthening of ranks and cohesion among member states, preserving security and stability in the region, stressing that no state’s security is compromised or targeting its national campaign.

According to Al-Ula's statement, the summit was titled openness and reconciliation, and it led to turning the page on the past and looking forward to a future dominated by cooperation.

He pointed out that Egypt's signing of the Al-Ula statement is a consolidation of the fraternal relations that bind it with the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
