Potsdam (dpa / bb) - The Brandenburg state government wants to determine the regulations for further school lessons today, Thursday, under the conditions of the corona pandemic.

The main question is when the schools should be reopened for face-to-face teaching.

With the exception of the final classes and special needs schools, all children and young people have had to study at home since January 4th.

Government spokesman Florian Engels announced that this regulation should remain in place for the time being.

The daycare centers remain open.

However, parents are asked to look after their children at home if possible.

The Conference of Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs presented a step-by-step plan on Monday according to which face-to-face classes could start again in primary schools if the number of infections fell.

Then the older students should follow in alternating lessons.

However, there was not yet a schedule for this.

The cabinet does not want to decide on the further extension and tightening of corona restrictions for citizens until Friday.

Prior to this, coordination with the districts and independent cities is necessary.

It is particularly about the agreement of the heads of government of the federal and state levels to limit the radius of movement of people in corona hotspots to 15 kilometers around their place of residence.
