January 06, 2021President-elect Joe Biden intervened following the assault on the Washington Congress buildings by proTrump protesters.

"Right now our democracy is under threat. People and Congressional guards are under threat on Capitol Hill. We have never seen anything like it, it's a wound for all of America."

"The scenes we are seeing are insurrection. They do not reflect, they do not represent the real America that we are, but they represent a group of extremists and this is nothing but disorder, chaos and it must end now."

"I appeal to all these people to leave, the words of a President matter no matter how positive or negative this President is. But words can inspire."

"I appeal to Trump to honor his oath and demand that this siege end now."

"Entering the US Senate and threatening the people who work there is an insurrection. People are shocked and sad now our country has fallen into darkness. We have had wars and difficult times but we must build and respect democracy and the rule of law but even simple dignity without inciting chaos. America has always represented respect and dignity. "
