The incident occurred in September last year, when the woman had been anesthetized to undergo an X-ray examination of the bile ducts.
Before the examination could begin, she slipped off the operating table.
The case was stopped by a mobile X-ray machine that stood in the way.
According to the Lex Maria report that the hospital made to IVO, the woman got abrasions and has had pain in her hip after the incident.
IVO will now investigate whether the University Hospital may have committed something wrong, or whether the operating table was defective.
