Yesterday, Tuesday, a Palestinian youth was shot dead by the Israeli occupation army, claiming that he tried to carry out a stabbing attack, in the Gush Etzion settlement complex, south of Bethlehem.

Israeli sources claimed that the young man advanced towards a point where the occupation soldiers are stationed opposite the gas station in Etzion, carrying a knife. When he was asked to stop, he refused, so the soldiers shot him.

The occupation forces closed the main road connecting the Bethlehem and Hebron governorates in both directions, and heavy military checkpoints were set up in the area.

For his part, Muhammad Awad, an activist in the area of ​​settlement resistance, said that the martyr is Ahed al-Khalil (35 years) from the town of Beit Ummar, in the Hebron governorate, and indicated that after the accident, the Israeli intelligence service summoned his father and 3 of his second-degree relatives to the Etzion Center for investigation.

Hamas and Jihad condemn

The Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) and Islamic Jihad condemned the killing of the young man in cold blood by the occupation forces.

Hamas called the martyr, calling for concerted national efforts and unleashing the hand of resistance to repel the aggression and protect the land and sanctities.

In turn, the Jihad movement called for confronting the occupation by activating all means of resistance, especially at the checkpoints taken by the occupation as points to target Palestinian youths, and to execute them in cold blood and false pretenses.

And she considered that confronting the settlers' attacks and their escalating ritualism is the way to deter them and protect our land and our people, and added in her statement that the return of security coordination - between the authority and Israel - and the Zionist security and military establishment glorifying the role of security coordination, encourages the occupation soldiers and settlers to wander and revel in.
