Stralsund / Rostock / Schwerin (dpa / mv) - With reference to the strict Corona restrictions, the police and the assembly authorities have prevented so-called protest walks in Schwerin and Stralsund.

As the responsible police spokesman said on Tuesday, around 45 protesters in Stralsund and around 30 people in Schwerin gathered on Monday evening without registration.

In order to circumvent the prescribed hygiene and distance rules - such as minimum distance and mask requirement - nobody wanted to register a meeting at the meeting.

The authorities then banned spontaneous protest walks in larger groups.

In Stralsund, several participants were also sent off.

In contrast to this, there were so-called protest walks in Rostock and Neubrandenburg on predetermined routes in the city center, including a mask requirement.

According to the police, a total of 150 people took part.

Such protests have been taking place on Monday evenings in several cities in the northeast since spring.

In earlier times they also had up to 1200 participants.

In the north-east, the incidence value is around 91 new corona infections per 100,000 inhabitants in one week and thus remains similar to mid-December 2020.
