A scam to start the year off right.

Friday January 1, two tourists from Hong Kong, on a business trip to France, had to pay for their taxi fare between Roissy-Charles-de-Gaulle airport and the 10th arrondissement of Paris at the rate of 230 euros, reports

Le Parisien

.

Or four times the current price.

A bogus receipt

According to the New Parisian taxis association (LNTP), which was contacted by the victims in the wake, this driver is a “crook” known to other taxis.

Equipped with a "light" and a parking plate in order, he would have provided a completely bogus receipt.

Will there be legal consequences?

According to daily information, the victims have not yet filed a complaint, and have since returned to Hong Kong.
