Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The number of unemployed in the southwest is likely to have continued to decline towards the end of the year.

However, experts are only assuming a slight decline in December compared to the previous month.

Compared to the previous year, unemployment is likely to remain significantly higher anyway.

In November 2020, 266 888 people were registered as unemployed in Baden-Württemberg, the rate was 4.2 percent.

In December 2019 it was 3.2 percent, at that time 200 855 people were unemployed.

The regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency announced the figures this morning (10:00 a.m.).

As a result of the Corona crisis, the number of unemployed in the southwest had initially risen steadily since March last year. The trend reversal only came in September and the numbers fell again for the first time.
