Tottenham qualified for the English League Cup final on Tuesday by beating Brentford (2nd div.) 2-0 and will face the winner of the other semi-final between Manchester United and Manchester City on 25 April.

"This club has been waiting for a new trophy for so long," Spurs coach José Mourinho, current fourth in the Premier League, recalled before the meeting.

Its players will have the opportunity in the spring to finally add a line to the palmares of the club which has not won anything since the 2008 League Cup.
