Iserlohn (dpa / bb) - The Eisbären Berlin conceded their second away defeat in the German Ice Hockey League (DEL) at the beginning of the year.

On Tuesday evening, the capital city lost 2: 5 (0: 1, 2: 2, 0: 2) at the Iserlohn Roosters.

Goals from Lukas Reichel and Matt White were not enough for the Berliners to win their first season on foreign ice, because the Sauerlanders exploited their chances of outnumbering.

In front of empty stands in the ice rink on the Seilersee, the hosts used their first power play: Casey Bailey took the lead early.

The Berliners struggled for a long time, but shortly after the first break they benefited from the fact that the Iserlohners allowed themselves some time penalties.

Reichel scored twice over to equalize.

Even after that, both teams remained dangerous in the power play: Brent Aubin and Alexandre Grenier scored more overpaid goals for the hosts in the second period.

In between, White had equalized again for the polar bears when an Iserlohner had sat on the penalty bench.

In the final section, Joseph Whitney only needed ten seconds to score the fourth power play goal of the Sauerlanders.

Shortly before the end of the game, Bailey finally ensured the hosts win with his second goal.
