There is chaos on the vaccination front.

The hope that large parts of the population will soon be immunized against the coronavirus has given way to unease.

Deliveries to the responsible federal states and municipalities are too slow, the organization of vaccinations on site is too chaotic.

At least one thing is still clear at the moment: Who can expect a vaccination against the coronavirus soon.

The Federal Ministry of Health has set a clear sequence.

According to the vaccination ordinance, people over the age of 80 as well as residents of nursing homes and nursing staff are vaccinated first.

But what happens next?

Once the elders in the population and the nursing staff have been vaccinated, other factors come into play when prioritizing.

Pregnant women and their contact persons, for example, also enjoy high priority.

Teachers and educators are also assigned an “increased priority”.

(More information on the order can be found here.)

But how does each individual know that it is now their turn?

The federal government only states: “Those eligible for vaccination will be informed by the federal states.” However, they in turn handle this differently.

And in some federal states there is already a lack of clarity as to how the information transfer should work.

Vaccination in Bavaria

The Bavarian State Ministry for Health and Care, for example, does not explain on its website how citizens should find out about their possibility of being vaccinated.

Citizens should make appointments at the responsible vaccination center on the nationwide uniform telephone number 116 117, it says.

However, it should be pointed out "that, to the best of our knowledge, the vaccination centers currently do not invite you to take part in the corona vaccination by telephone".

The website does not find out that the municipalities inform citizens of their possible vaccination date by letter, as reported by those affected and the media.

Vaccination in Baden-Württemberg

Baden-Württemberg even completely relies on the independent research of those willing to be vaccinated.

The state government announced: “Citizens are informed about the prioritization, the possibility and the timing of the vaccination through public relations, for example via the state portal Baden-Württemberg.de.

There will be no personalized invitation.

Talk to your family doctor about which prioritized group you might belong to. "

Vaccination in Berlin

In Berlin, however, people should receive a written invitation.

According to the health administration, the letter should be accompanied by a code that can be used to make an appointment at one of the six vaccination centers - by phone or online.

Vaccination in Brandenburg

Brandenburg is apparently not planning such a direct address.

People over 80 have been able to make an appointment by phone since January 4, 2021.

"As soon as other groups of people can arrange vaccination appointments, they will be informed," it simply says.

To do this, people should follow www.brandenburg-impft.de and the regional press.

Vaccination in Bremen

Persons entitled to vaccinate will be informed of possible vaccination dates by post in Bremen.

Vaccination in Hamburg

A written invitation should also be issued in Hamburg.

According to the state government: “Hamburgers who are eligible to vaccinate due to their age will be informed in writing at the appropriate time.

Persons entitled to vaccinate can then make an appointment at the central vaccination center by phone or online. "

Vaccination in Hessen

The uniform nationwide sequence for prioritizing vaccinations also applies in Hesse.

"We will inform you as soon as other groups can register for a vaccination appointment," is just what it says so far.

Vaccination in

Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania

In Mecklenburg people should be written to individually.

The Ministry of Social Affairs sends information about the preparation of the vaccination by letter.

It is important that the documents that are necessary for the vaccination are read and filled out in advance, the state government announced.

Vaccination in

Lower Saxony

Vaccination will begin in Lower Saxony initially in old people's and nursing homes in counties with high incidences.

Later, other groups should be informed “personally and through public announcements” when they can be vaccinated.

The vaccination hotline 0800 9988665 has been active since mid-December.

Vaccination in NRW

In North Rhine-Westphalia, those eligible for vaccination should also be informed by letter.

The nationwide uniform telephone number for the appointment service will be activated when the approved vaccine is available in sufficient quantities.

Meanwhile, the police in North Rhine-Westphalia are warning of attempted fraud.

Criminals offer alleged house calls over the phone.

The strangers would try to gain access to the homes of seniors.

Vaccination in

Rhineland-Palatinate

Since Monday, authorized persons have been able to register for their vaccination by calling 0800 5758100 or via the website impftermin.rlp.de.

A “structured data query” is carried out there to determine whether one is already eligible for a vaccination.

Vaccination in

Saarland

The 12,000 vaccination appointments that were initially available in Saarland have been fully booked since December.

It is not yet clear how other groups will be informed about a possible termon allocation.

But there are two vaccination hotlines: 0681 501 4422 and 0800 9991599.

Vaccination in

Saxony

“We inform in good time which groups of people can register for vaccination appointments, how, where and when,” it says in Saxony.

How exactly this happens is open.

In any case, there should be no individual appointments for vaccinations until mid-January 2021.

Until then, vaccination is reserved for nursing homes, hospitals and homes.

Vaccination in

Saxony-Anhalt

In Saxony-Anhalt only the information of the first group is regulated so far.

It says: “The state is in contact with the care facilities in order to initially coordinate the deployment of the mobile teams.

In advance, the homes will inquire about their interest in vaccinating, including the involvement of supervisors. "In addition, those eligible for vaccination can book an appointment at the vaccination center of their choice - by phone on 116117 and online at www.impfterminservice.de."

Vaccination in

Schleswig-Holstein

Schlewsig-Holstein does not provide online information on how those entitled to vaccinations will be informed.

On www.impfen-sh.de you can at least see at a glance who is currently in line.

Vaccination in

Thuringia

Vaccination appointments have been made online in Thuringia since Monday via www.impfen-thueringen.de.

In the meantime, however, the dates are apparently fully booked.

"Since the next delivery has been announced for January 8th, 2021, we will reactivate our appointment portal from this day," it says on the page.

How other groups are informed about the possibility of vaccination is not explained.
