Chinanews, January 5th, a comprehensive report, on the 4th local time, the London Central Criminal Court ruled that in view of potential risks to the health of "WikiLeaks" founder Assange, he will not be extradited to the United States. The court is expected to be on the 6th. A ruling will also be made on whether to allow Assange to bail.

According to reports, a British court refused to extradite Assange to the United States for trial on the grounds of “fear of suicide risk” on the 4th.

Judge Barratt told Assange: “You will return to court on Wednesday (January 6) and a ruling will be made on whether to allow bail. For the reasons listed earlier, you will be temporarily kept in detention.”

The picture shows WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange arriving at the court.

According to reports, Assange was happy with the verdict that day and smiled to his relatives and friends who appeared in court.

Foreign media analysis believes that because Assange had previously violated the bail regulations and was deemed to have a "risk of absconding", the possibility of obtaining bail is unlikely.

But Assange’s lawyer Fitzgerald stated that he would file a full bail application for Assange on the 6th and said that “there will be evidence that Assange will not abscond.”

At the same time, the U.S. representative in the Assange extradition case confirmed that the U.S. side will appeal the decision of the London Central Criminal Court that refused to extradite Assange to the United States.

According to previous reports, Assange created the "WikiLeaks" website in 2006.

In 2010, the website published a large number of secret documents of the US government on the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, which caused a huge blow to the US diplomatic image.

In November 2010, the Swedish prosecutor accused Assange of rape during his stay in Sweden in August of that year.

After being arrested by the British police, Assange denied all charges.

In June 2012, Assange entered the Ecuadorian Embassy in the UK to seek asylum during his release on bail.

In April 2019, after Ecuador announced the withdrawal of the asylum granted to Assange, the British police arrested Assange again.

In May 2019, Assange was sentenced to 50 weeks in prison in the UK.

The United States requested the extradition of Assange on the grounds that "WikiLeaks" published secret documents related to the United States endangering the lives of others.

The District Court of the United Kingdom will start hearing the extradition case on February 24, 2020.
