More than a million citizens have already been vaccinated with the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine.

This was announced by the head of the Gamaleya Center, which developed the drug, Alexander Gintsburg.

The specialist clarified that the Ministry of Health, together with Roszdravnadzor, is monitoring the state of those vaccinated in the framework of civilian circulation.

No new adverse reactions were detected in the vaccinated.

Gunzburg emphasized that Sputnik V had passed the checks necessary for the start of large-scale vaccination, and drew attention to the fact that manufacturers of other vaccines in the world are acting on the same principle as Russia.

In Russia, over the past day, 24,246 new cases of coronavirus infection were detected (in the previous two days, the diagnosis was confirmed in 23,351 and 24,150 people).

The largest number of new cases was registered in Moscow (4842), St. Petersburg (3649) and the Moscow region (1131).

The press service of Rospotrebnadzor reported that more than 92 million laboratory tests have already been carried out in the country to detect COVID-19, including among people who arrived from countries with an unfavorable epidemiological situation.

The total number of cases of coronavirus detected in Russia reached 3,284,384, 2,662,668 patients have recovered over the entire period, 59,506 people have died.

In the capital's operational headquarters to combat the spread of infection, they recalled that for any symptoms of acute respiratory viral infections, it is necessary to stay at home and call a doctor.

Recall that vaccination centers continue to work in Moscow, where you can get vaccinated against coronavirus.

Citizens employed in the field of health care, education, employees of the MFC, city social services and the spheres of culture, trade and services, workers in transport, energy, industry, and media employees can get vaccinated.

Also, residents of the capital who work in the housing sector, sports, in public catering establishments and law enforcement agencies have the right to be vaccinated.

Vaccinations are available for volunteers and individuals employed in non-profit and religious organizations, construction workers, college and university students over 18, and citizens over 60.

On January 4, an appointment for vaccination was opened for employees of the banking and financial sectors, authorities and budgetary institutions of the federal, regional and municipal levels.

In the meantime, catering establishments have reopened in St. Petersburg since January 4, whose work has been temporarily suspended since December 30 due to the spread of COVID-19.

The establishments can again receive visitors from 06:00 to 23:00.

At the same time, the authorities extended until January 31 a number of previously introduced restrictions, including a ban on holding mass and sports events with spectators, the work of children's camps and institutions of additional education.

The city also maintains a mandatory self-isolation regime for people over 65.

The day before, the St. Petersburg operational headquarters for combating coronavirus infection noted that the daily increase in new cases of COVID-19 in the city is stable at about 3,650-3750, despite the fact that on Monday St. Petersburg was ahead of Moscow in this indicator.

The infected man was a man over 60 who had not traveled recently, which, according to Cuomo, indicates the spread of this type of virus in the country.

In late December, a new type of infection was also found in the states of California and Colorado, and in early January in Florida.

In addition, over the past 24 hours, the "British strain" has been confirmed in two people in Brazil. According to a statement by the authorities of the state of São Paulo, the infected had previously been in contact with citizens who arrived from the UK.
