Munich / Nuremberg (dpa / lby) - The first arrest by the federal police at Munich Airport in the new year had a comparatively banal reason - a parking offender from Nuremberg went to the police.

According to a spokesman for the federal police, the 51-year-old had not paid a fine of ten euros for a parking violation on Monday, so the public prosecutor's office had been looking for him with an enforcement warrant.

Last Friday, the man wanted to travel to Zanzibar via Dubai, when the officials discovered the wanted notice of the public prosecutor's office at the exit control.

The man was arrested - and finally paid 151.21 euros in administrative costs in addition to the fine.
