January 04, 2021 After more than three years, the turning point comes in the dispute between Saudi Arabia and two other Arab countries with Qatar.

An agreement will be signed tomorrow in Saudi Arabia that will end the embargo against Doha.

This was announced by a senior Trump administration official, cited by Reuters, for what is the latest in a series of Washington-mediated Middle East deals (the others involve Israel and the Arab states) aimed at building a united front against Iran.

Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain had accused Qatar of being too close to Tehran and of supporting radical Islamic groups.

The agreement provides for the lifting of the transport blockade and the end of the Doha legal actions against neighboring countries. Doha has made it known that the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, will attend the summit in Saudi Arabia tomorrow. Kuwait previously announced that Saudi Arabia will reopen airspace and land and sea borders with Qatar "starting tonight".
