Munich (dpa / lby) - The Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians in Bavaria (KVB) rejects criticism that the on-call service was difficult to reach on the holidays.
Rather, the offer with the number 116117 over Christmas and the turn of the year "worked excellently", the KVB announced on Monday.
The outpatient care service has "impressively demonstrated its efficiency under the difficult conditions of the corona pandemic".
The number 116117 is not a «Corona vaccination hotline» emphasized the KVB chairmen.
"We made it clear from the start that 116117 in Bavaria is not a vaccination hotline."
The placement and advice centers would not give general information about the corona vaccinations, nor would it be possible to make vaccination appointments here.
Anyone who calls 116117 from Bavaria about the corona vaccination will be forwarded to the communally operated vaccination center in their region via an automatic switch.
The KVB reported: 73,685 inquiries from patients were processed via the hotline between December 24, 2020 and January 3, 2021.
The waiting time for the callers was on average 2:47 minutes.
In the 125 on-call practices of the KVB, around 35,000 patients were treated on an outpatient basis and the transport service carried out 22,000 medically necessary house calls.
